Beth Tikvah Congregation is a Reform synagogue serving over 300 Jewish families in the Northwest Suburban area for 50 years.
Jews are a minority in the suburbs surrounding Beth Tikvah, so for many of us, the Congregation is our Jewish Community Center for all religious and educational activities and many of our social activities.

Education
Beth Tikvah is committed to the principle that education is a continuous and life long activity. Programs and courses of study have been and continue to be developed for our adult members.
In the past few years, our adult education program has included:

Weekend retreats at O.S.R.U.I.

Social
Our numerous social activities are an integral component of membership, and are vital as part of the “family experience” at Beth Tikvah.
Purely social activities for the entire congregation include:

Affiliates
The experience of belonging to the Jewish community is enhanced by our organizations that appeal to specific target groups. There is at least one affiliate whose activities will appeal to each member of your family, and they are a great place to make new friends.
Teen and Tween Youth Groups – led by our young members with adult supervision
LAFF (Life After Fifty-Five) – is an energetic group of seniors that meet monthly for social and cultural activities
Men’s Club – all men are welcome to this group for both social activities and service projects
Sisterhood – women working to serve the congregation and socializing together as sisters. Sisterhood serves the temple in many ways:
Sponsoring Oneg Shabbats
Hosting holiday parties in religious school
Running the gift shop
Providing camp scholarships
Undertaking many special projects

Religious school
Over the years, Beth Tikvah has maintained one of the finest Jewish religious schools in the Chicago area!
The religious education offered by Beth Tikvah to has the goal of instilling within the children of our members:
a love for Judaism
an appreciation of the values and ideals of the Jewish heritage.
Teachers are selected for their educational background and teaching experience. The faculty participates in continuing programs of teacher education.
Our educational program fulfills a complete continuum of needs:
We begin with an Early Childhood Center (ECC) that serves those as young as 18 months with programs both during the year and a summer camp for toddlers.
Religious school commences with pre-school classes and continues up to 12th grade Hebrew and religious studies.
We have a “special needs” class taught by certified Special Education personnel.
There is also a summer camp for children in grades 1-5, which includes field trips and pool time.
The Hebrew program is intensive and teaches Hebrew as a living language, not just as the language of the Torah.
High School District #211 has recognized this excellence by awarding high school credit for Hebrew classes taken.
Many of our graduates even receive college credit.
Religious services
Tickets to attend High Holiday services are a privilege of membership.
We welcome all who wish to come and worship with us at Shabbat and festival services.
Friday evening Shabbat services are held at 8:00 pm.
Family Shabbat services are held once a month at 7:30 pm
Funeral plan
Death and funerals are topics that most of us do not want to discuss until the need is imminent. While death is a natural part of the human life cycle, it is a stressful time for the family.
To support our families, during these difficult times, Beth Tikvah has selected a special standardized funeral plan open to members and their immediate families. We can also customize the arrangements to meet the needs of the family.

Recognizing the diversity that comprises the people of the Reform movement, Beth Tikvah is committed to an active Outreach program.
