How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Over 50 years ago, founder William Perry DuBose left the family farm in Arkansas to work in Illinois. He found he could make money repairing and servicing a variety of material handling equipment. His plan was to work for 10 years, make enough money to provide some financial security for his young family and return home to Arkansas. In 1956, he started a company and moved into a small shop in Franklin Park, Illinois. The name of that company was National Lift Truck, Inc.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We are a family owned company in business for over 50 years. We are known for superior service and therefore we acquire most of our customers via personal recommendation and word of mouth rather than advertising. We are also the 2014 Community Of Caring Member of Companies That Care (http://www.companies-that-care.org/community-of-caring/members) which is one of the factors differentiating National LIft Truck, Inc. from other similar businesses in the area.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We have two locations: in Franklin Park. Illinois and in East Hazel Crest, Illinois. No plans to expand at this time.
