CONNECTIONS PROVIDEs HOUSING AND SUPPORTIVE SERVICES TO HOMELESS INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES.
Connections for the Homeless is a non-profit organization that helps individuals and families that are homeless or threatened with homelessness. Through a wide spectrum of services, we meet people where they are in the spectrum of homelessness. Our ultimate goal is to help every person we serve reach the highest level of self-sufficiency possible.
We began as a local movement when a small group of community members demanded something be done for the growing population of homeless in Evanston, IL. What started out as an over-night shelter has transformed into a multi-service agency with housing, health, employment, and education programs.
Our method of delivering services is trauma-informed, because after 30 years of serving homeless and near-homeless people, we've learned that nearly all those affected by homelessness are victims of trauma in one form or another.
Today, Connections helps more than 800 individuals and families each year with the help over 5,000 supporters and volunteers.?
